Espanaro Joins UK–Nigeria Cybersecurity Trade Mission 2025
With the Potential of Opening Doors to Strategic Partnerships in West Africa

Earlier this month, Espanaro CEO Dan Edmunds completed a high-impact visit to Nigeria as part of the UK–Nigeria Cybersecurity Trade Mission 2025, a strategic initiative led by the UK Department for Business and Trade. The mission brought together top UK cybersecurity providers and key Nigerian stakeholders across the public and private sectors, with the goal of tackling the country’s growing digital security challenges.
Held across Abuja and Lagos from 2nd to 7th March 2025, the mission enabled carefully curated Government-to-Business (G2B) and Business-to-Business (B2B) engagements, supporting meaningful collaboration and knowledge exchange between UK innovators and Nigerian authorities responsible for data protection, national infrastructure, and digital resilience.
Strategic Engagements Across Sectors
Throughout the week, CEO Dan Edmunds took part in a full programme of high-level meetings, including engagements with:
The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA)
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA)
The National Data Protection Commission (NDPC)
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)
Senior representatives from Nigeria’s leading telecoms and financial institutions
Discussions focused on the urgent need for tailored, interoperable cybersecurity technologies to meet Nigeria’s unique challenges—such as the rising volume of ransomware attacks, vulnerabilities in mobile infrastructure, and the need for cloud-native data security solutions.
Follow-On Meetings and Strong Interest in Consilium
Following the success of the mission, Espanaro has been invited to continue discussions with a number of Nigerian authorities who expressed keen interest in our technologies—particularly Consilium, our flagship smart command and control (C2) platform.
Consilium is a SAPIENT-compliant, autonomous C2 system designed to deliver real-time situational awareness, support for rapid decision-making, and seamless integration with sensors, drones, and other digital assets.

We are now engaged in active follow-on conversations with:
The National Boundary Commission -This vital agency is exploring how Consilium can enhance border monitoring, inter-agency collaboration, and national resilience through intelligent surveillance and coordination technologies.
Central Securities Clearing Systems - Nigeria’s premier capital market infrastructure provider is assessing Consilium’s value in supporting secure data processing, cyber threat detection, and real-time monitoring across critical financial services.
The Lagos Free Zone – seeking opportunities to strengthen cyber defence across its rapidly expanding commercial and industrial hub, with particular interest in Consilium’s ability to deliver integrated, autonomous security solutions tailored to complex operational environments.
These engagements underscore the potential for UK cyber innovation to play a pivotal role in Nigeria’s national digital security journey, particularly in areas where trust, speed, and autonomous operation are paramount.

Leading by Innovation
Reflecting on the outcomes of the mission, Dan Edmunds said:
“This trade mission has reaffirmed the deep value of global collaboration in cybersecurity. It’s clear that Nigerian institutions are eager to embrace future-proof solutions—and Espanaro is proud to be part of that journey. Consilium offers a unique blend of intelligence, autonomy, and interoperability that can directly address the needs we encountered throughout this mission.”
As demand continues to grow across Africa’s digital economies, Espanaro looks forward to furthering its international partnerships—delivering bespoke, high-impact solutions that safeguard the integrity and security of complex systems in a connected world.
