About the Role

We are seeking candidates with Project Manager experience who can be trained to lead defence-related projects.


The ideal candidate will have a background in project management, demonstrating an ability to navigate complex projects, manage cross-functional teams, and deliver results in a timely and efficient manner.

This role requires a some understanding of defence industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

The Project Manager will eventually be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific projects from conception to completion.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning and implementation of project tasks within the defence sector, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies.

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.

  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Report and escalate to management as needed.

  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.


CONDITIONS:

Starting salary 35,000 - 40,000 pa.

This position will be Hybrid and will require on-site work in Bristol (initially) for a minimum 2 days a week. Location of onsite work may change according to future projects. 

Temporary relocation costs will be covered: Accommodation (if required) and transport.

Requirements

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience level). 

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of project management experience, specifically in the defence sector. 

  • Proven working experience in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). 

  • Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, APM PMQ) and agile methodologies. 

  • Knowledge of defence contracting processes, defence industry standards, and regulatory compliance requirements. 

  • Ability to lead, inspire, and manage cross-functional teams in a high-pressure environment. 

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to analyse and solve problems with innovative, creative solutions. 

  • Security clearance, or the ability to obtain one, may be required depending on the project or client requirements. 


PREFERRED SKILLS: 

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or MBA) is a plus. 

  • APM PMPQ or equivalent certification. 

  • Experience in international defence projects.
